Day 01: Arrival at Mumbai and day at leisure.

On your arrival at Mumbai airport, you will be welcomed by an Alluring India Tour's representative who will help you with your transfer to the hotel. This day is at leisure and tomorrow you shall begin with the sightseeing of the first city in your luxury wildlife tour of India.

Mumbai, earlier known as 'Bombay' is still referred by many with its old name. Some say that the name 'Bombay' originated from the Portuguese word 'Bombaim' that means 'Old Little Bay' or 'Good Bay'. Later, the name of the city was based on it most famous temple called 'Mumba Devi Temple' belonging to Goddess 'Mumba'. She is the deity worshiped by the oldest inhabitants of this island who are called the 'Koli' fishermen. It is believed that any immigrant coming to Mumbai must seek her blessings as she is the main Goddess protecting this island city.

Day 02: Full day sightseeing of Mumbai visiting Mumbai Fort, Marine Drive, Gateway of India, Flora Fountain/ Hutama Chowk & Hanging Gardens.

Have a leisurely breakfast at the hotel and proceed for a sightseeing tour of Mumbai.

Mumbai Fort

The famous site of Mumbai fort is often mistook to be an area enclosing a fort structure, similar to the mistaken fort in Kochi Fort area. However, the Mumbai Fort today is just a location comprising of old buildings and the popular Flora Fountain. There used to be an old British fort during the British time though.

Though there are several Marine Drives across India, undoubtedly the most popular is the Mumbai Marine Drive that extends for 3 kms. from Nariman Point upto the Malabar Hills. Its actual name is Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Road, but it is always referred to as Marine Drive. Another interesting name for Marine Drive is the 'Queen's Necklace'. It so got its name because when viewed from a higher ground at night, the curve of the road besides the sea glitters with lights giving an impression of a necklace.

Gateway Of India Gateway of India

Gateway Of India

Mumbai's 'Taj Mahal', the Gateway of India is a 85 ft. high archway at Apollo Bunder. In olden days, this was the point from where visitors mostly traders would enter India. Hence, the name 'Gateway of India'. Unlike the war memorial gateway of Delhi, this tall decorated arch was built to welcome King George V and Queen Mary in Mumbai. On one hand it was built to welcome the British rulers, and on the contrary, it is also said to be the symbol signifying the British exiting from India after India gained independence in 1947.

Flora Fountain

The Flora fountain is a heritage monument that comprises of a sculpted fountain at the centre of 'Hutatma Chowk'. It was named as 'Flora Fountain' symbolizing the Roman Goddess of flowers. It is said to have been made in honor of a British Governor in Bombay. It stands at a junction of five streets known as the 'Picadilly Circus' of Mumbai. The fountain sculptor contains statues of mythological characters with the statue of the Roman Goddess on top.

Hanging Gardens

Unlike its name, the Hanging Gardens are not Hanging but firmly grounded on a terraced hill slope in the busy south Mumbai area. In a city where space is often a constraint and open places difficult to find, this garden is sure a relief to the both the locals and tourists alike. Its actual name if Pherozeshah Mehta gardens but everyone knows it by the name of Hanging Gardens. It is said that these gardens were made to cover the water in the reservoirs here from the contaminating activities of the adjoining Towers of Silence. The towers of silence are basically the cremation ground of the Parsi or Zoarastrian community. This community believes that one of the most eco-friendly ways of disposing off human dead bodies is to feed them to the Vultures and eagles and hence they bring the dead bodies to the towers of silence to be fed to such birds.

Return back to the hotel and overnight.  

Day 03: Have your breakfast, and you will be transferred to the airport to board flight for Varanasi.

Varanasi

Varanasi, known by many names such as Kashi, Benaras & Banaras, is an important pilgrim destination in India and is situated on the banks of the holy river ‘Ganga’ (Ganges). Varanasi is believed to be more than 5000 years old, which means that it is not only the oldest city in India but also one of the oldest living civilizations in the world.

You will be welcomed on arrival at the Varanasi Airport by our representative from Alluring India, who will help you with your transfer to the hotel where you can relax. Later proceed for the River Ganges to enjoy the evening AARTI at the GHATS. The guide will be giving a commentary to you on the proceedings and meanings of the chants during the AARTI of the river. 

Overnight will be at Varanasi.

Day 04: Early in the morning visit Daswamedh Ghat. Return back to hotel for breakfast and proced for the sightseeing tour of Varanasi visiting famous temples, University of India B.H.U. & Sarnath.

Drive to Daswamedh Ghat early in the morning and take a boat ride on the sacred river Ganges to see the cremation Ghats and witness the living traditions of one of the world's oldest and most important religions. (To start at 0500 hrs. for the best lifetime experience) For you to appreciate this remarkable city, we’ll transfer you to the banks of the River Ganges before the sun rises. Board a boat with your guide and proceed to the middle of the river, where at sunrise the sight unfolds before you. Thousands of faithful come daily to the banks to bathe and pray while in the background, temples and palaces rise in tiers from the water’s edge. Return for a walk through the cobblestone streets along the banks of "Ganga".

Return back to the hotel and enjoy your breakfast and later proceed for sightseeing tour of Varanasi cit visiting famous temples and one of the most famous University of India B.H.U.

Later visit to the archeological museum at Sarnath.

Sarnath is a small town situated  approx. 10 kms. from Varanasi. After attaining enlightenment  at Bodhgaya, Lord Buddha travelled to Sarnath. This town became popular because this is the place where Gautama Buddha preached his first sermon which is popularly referred to as the ‘Maha Dharm Chakra Parivartan’.

Day 05: Have your breakfast, later you shall be transferred to the airport to board your flight for Khajuraho.

Khajuraho is a popular tourist destination in India. It is known for its ancient temples famous for its erotic architecture and depict some of the finest art in the world. The temples displays fine sculptures and exceptional architectural skill making them a UNESCO World Heritage Sites in India and is considered to be one of the ‘seven wonders’ of India.

Reach Khajuraho and you will be transferred to the hotel.

Day 06: Have a leisurely breakfast, and proceed for the sightseeing tour of Khajuraho visiting the erotic temples.

Later proceed for the sightseeing tour of Khajuraho visiting the famous erotic temples of Khajuraho.

Overnight will be at Khajuraho.

Day 07: Have your breakfast, and start your drive to Bandhavgarh National Park (240 kms / 4 hrs.)

Reach and check in at the resort in Bandhavgarh. Experience the luxurious stay, before you proceed with your wildlife tour.

Overnight will be at the resort.

Day 08: Early morning proceed for the game drive and return back by breakfast. Later in the afternoon proceed for another game drive.

Early morning proceed to the National park for game drive.

Return back to the hotel and enjoy your breakfast.

Later proceed for afternoon game drive into the National Park.

Return back to the resort and overnight.

Day 09: Have your breakfast, and start your drive for Kanha National Park (260 kms / 5 hrs.)

Kanha National Park

Rudyard Kipling's famous novel "Jungle Book", was set right here in the forests, meadows and ravines of Kanha. Today it has become the Kanha Tiger Reserve. The park has a high population of the Royal Bengal Tiger, Leopards, Sloth Bears and Barasinghas. It is also home to over 1000 species of flowering plants and has abundant varieties of climbers, shrubs and herbs.

Reach Kanha and relax for the evening. Overnight will be at Kanha.

Day 10: Early morning proceed for the game drive and return back by breakfast. Later in the afternoon proceed for another game drive.

Early morning proceed to the National park for game drive.

Return back to the hotel and enjoy your breakfast.

Later proceed for afternoon game drive into the National Park.

Return back to the resort and overnight.

Day 11: Have your breakfast and later transfer to the Jabalpur airport to board flight for Delhi and further back home.
