From Kolkata, you will proceed to Kohima which is the capital city of Nagaland. It is near Kohima, where you will get to witness the famous Hornbill Festival of the Naga tribe. After spending two days at the festival, you will then fly from Dimapur airport to Kolkata to further connect your flight to Colombo. The Hornbill festival is organized every year during early December. It is a good time for a comfortable holiday in Sri-Lanka and India. However, the region of Nagaland will be more cold as compared to Sri-Lanka and Mumbai. Due to limited number of flights to reach Kohima through Dimapur and also limited option of accommodations, it is advised to book atleast six to eight months in advance. There is only one luxury camp that we recommend to experience the Hornbill Festival at its best and it gets filled up pretty fast.
